Profile: Kylie Price

She leads a small team of three to support more than 70 scientists to use the Institute’s state-of-the-art cytometry, microscopy and immunohistochemistry equipment, including the first Cytek Aurora in the Southern Hemisphere.

Kylie is the first New Zealander elected to the International Society for the Advancement of Cytometry (ISAC) Council and served on the Australasian Cytometry Society council from 2014 – 2017, serving two of these years as President of the Society. She instigated and co-organised the inaugural and much acclaimed CYTOAsia conference, is a member of ISAC’s: Live Education Task Force, Shared Resource Laboratory Emerging Leader (SRL EL) Committee and is content author of CYTO University’s Proliferation modules and is a SRL EL mentor.

Her passion for broadest application of cytometry sees Kylie teaching scientists and technicians locally and globally, promoting cytometry to other branches of science, including biochemistry, molecular biology, chemistry, neuroscience and marine biology, and sharing her knowledge with community and school groups.
